Alexandra Parkinson, who was studying jewellery design and Bronwyn Booysen who was studying accounting, met at Stellenbosch University. Inspired by Alex's mother, Fennis, who grew up with a lion cub as a pet, under a baobab tree in Kenya, where she used to collect crystals and interesting stones, including rubies, Alex and Bronwyn decided to design and market jewellery using natural materials from around the world.

This is a brand new business. We hope to expand and make FENNIS © 2008 Jewellery Collection “proudly South African” – we intend to employ previously disadvantaged women to help make our unique pieces. So, when you see our logo, the lion's paw print, you will know that something special is there.
